"I am very happy to say that I won this wonderful novel in a Facebook contest! The first thought to grab my attention was the fact that the cover is so stunning. I then proceeded to read the synopsis, which was incredibly intriguing. I have never read any previous works by this author, so I was very excited to have the chance to read her work now. I read through the reviews posted previously, and I had high expectations, and I must say that Marie did not disappoint. This period piece novel was obviously done with love, patience, and pride. She brought the characters to life for me! She certainly did her homework on the time period, for she presented a wonderfully novel that immediately grabbed my historical loving heart! I am a very picky reader, and I found this book to be so well-written and beautiful, that I was hard-pressed to put it down when I was done! I wanted to skim back to the start and read again. I do not want to give any spoilers out, but I will say that the adventure, twists, and hot romance, is incredible within this book. You will not be disappointed! I will go back into Amazon and purchase all of her other works and start reading those. Hail to, Marie Lavender! What a talented and wonderful author. I cannot wait for her next book to come out. It sounds like another winner! Please, buy this talented woman's work! I really wish I could give her more than five stars!!"
